Our History

Honan Insurance Group was established by Geoff Honan in 1964 to provide Victorians with life insurance and general insurance solutions.
 
In the first 30 years Geoff steadily grew the business to become one of Australia’s leading life insurance and superannuation consultants for Norwich Union Life Agents.

In 1993 Damien Honan CEO purchased the business from Geoff Honan and continued to diversify Honan Insurance Group with the help of Neville Gibson, expanding our services into corporate insurance broking. By the early 2000s we also specialised in international insurance broking services.

Such was the growth of our company that in 2001 we commenced operations in Sydney and thereafter steadily opened offices on the Gold Coast in 2007 and in Brisbane in 2008. In 2009 we explored our international capabilities and commenced operations in New Zealand and in 2010 we opened an office in Asia’s financial and insurance hub, Singapore, whilst merging the Brisbane and Gold Coast offices.

We now employ over 100 employees in three countries and are constantly expanding our business across Australia and the globe.
