Insurance Group Pty Ltd (referred to as ‘Honan’,
‘we’, ‘us’, and ‘our’, is committed to protecting your privacy and the
confidentiality of the personal information you provide. This Privacy Policy
explains how we collect, use, store ,disclose and handle your personal
information, in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

Personal Information
This
is information or opinion that can be used to identify an individual. It may
include information such as your name, age, occupation, gender, contact
details, insurance history or financial details.
Why we collect
personal information
We
collect personal information about you for the purpose of providing you with
financial services or products. This includes arranging insurance or
reinsurance and managing insurance claims or other risks for our clients.
What we do with the
personal information we collect
Unless
you tell us not to we may disclose some or all of your personal information to
other organisations where we believe it is necessary to assist them and us in
providing services. Typically these organisations will be insurers and other
insurance providers, employers, health workers, investigators, lawyers and loss
adjustors. Some of these third parties may be located overseas. We may also
disclose your personal information as permitted or required by law.
We
also use the information for administrative purposes such as processing applications
for insurance.
We may also
use your information in other ways. This may include using your information to
advise you of new products and services. You have the right to tell us that you
do not want us to send information to you other than for the main purpose for
which we have collected your personal details.
If you do not
provide us with the required information we may not be able to provide
appropriate products or sevices to you.
We do not
sell, trade or rent your personal information to others
Honan takes
measures to ensure your personal information is protected from unauthorised
access, loss, misuse, disclosure or alteration. We also take measures to
destroy or permanently de-identify personal information when it is no longer
required. The types of measures we take vary with the type of information, and
how it is collected and stored.
What we expect of you
If you have provided us with personal
information about other people, we have relied on you to have advised them that
you will or may disclose their personal information to us, the purposes for
which we use it, the types of third parties we disclose it to and how they can
access it. When we
provide you with personal information, you must ensure that you and your
representatives (including your employees, agents and contractors) only use it
for the purpose we have agreed to and in a manner consistent with the Privacy
Act regarding the collection, use, disclosure and handling of personal
information on our behalf.
Access to your personal information
Upon receipt
of a written request and enough information to allow us to identify the
information, we will disclose to you the personal information we hold about
you. We will also correct, amend or delete any personal information
that we agree is incorrect or not up to date.
